Singapore shares close higher, extending rally
SINGAPORE shares extended gains on Thursday, boosted by a strong start to domestic banks' earnings and strong results on Wall Street.
The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed at 3,354.71, up 17.99 points or 0.54 per cent.
Turnover came in at 3.1 billion worth S$1.5 billion and excluding warrants, losers outnumbered gainers 277 to 208, an indication that trading was mixed.
Shares of commodity trader Noble were among the actives, closing down 18 Singapore cents at 39.5 cents.
