Singapore shares close higher in first session since return of mid-day break

SINGAPORE shares closed 0.1 per cent higher as at 12.10pm on Monday, with the Straits Times Index up 3.2 points to 3,423.3.
About 985 million shares worth S$537 million in total changed hands.
The most actively traded stock was Jiutian Chemical, which traded at an indicative price of S$0.090 with 57.0 million shares by mid-day.
Other actives included Cosco Shipping and QT Vascular.
Gainers outnumbered losers 198 to 174.
