SINGAPORE stocks rose early on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index adding 0.16 per cent, or 4.45 points, to 2,798.44 as at 9.03am.
There were 72 gainers to 52 losers, or about three up for every two down, after 66.1 million shares worth S$105.4 million changed hands.
Singtel was an early index mover, gaining 0.5 per cent or two Singapore cents, to trade at S$3.68.
DBS Group led the banks, increasing by 0.8 per cent, or 13 Singapore cents, to S$16.33.
Commodity trader Noble Group slid 1.1 per cent, or 0.2 Singapore cent, to 17.8 Singapore cents.
