Singapore shares open 0.17% lower on Wall Street retreat

    SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Monday following Wall Street's retreat as the dollar hit a 13-year high.

    The benchmark Straits Times Index opened 4.9 points or 0.17 per cent down at 2,833.75.

    Gainers outnumbered losers 81 to 74 after 101.4 million shares worth S$120.2 million changed hands.

    ComfortDelGro was a key mover, increasing by 0.8 per cent or two cents to trade at S$2.44 with more than 15 million traded shares.
