Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday following overnight gains in US markets, with the Straits Times Index rising 0.24 per cent or 7.87 points to 3,335.70 as at 9.02am.
Gainers outnumbered losers 89 to 50, or about nine up for every five down, after 110.8 million shares worth S$87.2 million changed hands.
Thai Beverage Public Co saw robust volume out of the gate, gaining one per cent, or one Singapore cent, to trade at 97.5 Singapore cents. Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust stayed flat at S$1.93.
