Singapore shares open 0.31% down on Wednesday
SINGAPORE stocks fell early Wednesday following overnight declines in US markets, with the Straits Times Index declining by 0.31 per cent, or 9.85 points, to 3,217.86 at 9.03am.
Losers outnumbered gainers 71 to 56, or about five down for every three up, after 74.5 million shares worth S$74.6 million changed hands.
Commodity trader Noble Group remained active, slipping 3.8 per cent, or 2.5 Singapore cents, to 63.5 Singapore cents.
Blue chip telco Singtel retreated by 0.5 per cent, or 2 Singapore cents, to S$3.71.
