SINGAPORE shares retreated on Thursday, even as the Dow and S&P 500 finished at record levels for the third straight session overnight.
The benchmark Straits Times Index opened 0.32 per cent or 8.95 points down at 2,830.74.
More than 62.3 million shares worth S$178.2 million changed hands, with losers beating gainers 59 to 56.
Among the most active counters were Singtel, OCBC Bank and ST Engineering.
