SINGAPORE share prices opened lower on Thursday with the Straits Times Index down 12.69 points to 2,796.66 as at 9am. Wall Street broadly closed lower overnight, with Nasdaq Composite Index bucking the trend as Apple shares surged ahead of the launch of new iPhones.
Top losers in early-morning trade in Singapore included UOB, Singtel and Jardine Cycle & Carriage.
Some 26 million shares worth S$66.5 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 75 to 43.
