SINGAPORE shares opened unchanged on Friday, with the Straits Times Index dipping 1.71 points to 3,570.91 as at 9.06am.
About 72 million shares worth S$72 million in total changed hands as gainers outnumbered losers 66 to 55.
The most actively traded stock was Midas, which rose S$0.008 to S$0.168 with 346.5 million shares changing hands.
Other actives included Jiutian Chemical and QT Vascular.
Active index stocks included DBS, up S$0.33 or 1.23 per cent at S$27.17; and Sembcorp Marine shares trading down S$0.05 or 1.95 per cent at S$2.52.
Wall Street's Dow and S&P 500 both ended the Thurday trading sessions at record levels.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5 per cent to close at 26,392.79, a second straight record close, and the S&P 500 gained 0.1 per cent to 2,839.25.
However, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down for the second day, dropping 0.1 per cent to 7,411.16.
In regional markets, Australian stocks dipped 0.1 per cent, while the US dollar's bounce against the yen lifted Japanese stocks, with the Nikkei rising 0.5 per cent, Reuters said.
