Singapore shares open higher on Wall St rally, rebound in oil price

    SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Friday following Wall Street's overnight rally alongside a rebound in oil price.

    The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) opened up 0.47 per cent or 12.30 points at 2,656.87 at 9.03am.

    Some 65.7 million shares worth S$84.9 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 98 to 21.

    Among the more active counters were Tigerair, Jumbo and CapitaCom Trust.
