Singapore shares open lower on Tuesday; STI down 0.2%
SINGAPORE stocks opened lower on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index falling 7.03 points, or 0.2 per cent to 3,480.85 as at 9.02am.
About 49.8 million shares worth S$65 million changed hands.
Gainers outnumbered losers 78 to 56.
The most actively traded counter were Vallianz, which rose 7.1 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent to 1.5 Singapore cents, with 9.3 million shares traded; Hu An Cable which was flat at 0.6 Singapore cent with 2.8 million shares traded; and Spackman Entertainment which was up one per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent to 10.1 Singapore cents with two million shares traded.
Other active index stocks included Singtel which was down 0.9 per cent, or three Singapore cents to S$3.40; and DBS which was up 0.6 per cent, or 17 Singapore cents to S$28.60.
