SINGAPORE stocks tumbled on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index falling 46.67 points or 1.52 per cent to 3,031.39.
Losers outnumbered gainers 294 to 111, after 1.96 billion shares worth S$968.6 million changed hands.
The most actively traded counter was Nico Steel, which closed 40 per cent lower at 0.3 Singapore cent. It saw 76.5 million shares traded.
Among other active stocks, DBS, OCBC and UOB ended the day in the red.
DBS closed 1.56 per cent lower at S$23.97, OCBC fell 2.31 per cent to S$10.56, while UOB dropped 1.58 per cent to end at S$24.90.
