Singapore: ST Index edges down 0.16 per cent at opening

SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Wednesday morning, after European markets dropped on Tuesday.
The Straits Times Index (STI) was down 5.69 points, or 0.16 per cent, to 3,489.40 at 9.09am.
Some 122.1 million shares worth S$89.1 million changed hands, with gainers outnumbering losers 96 to 77.
Top gainers in early morning trade included Jardine C&C, City Developments and Ho Bee Land.
Ho Bee Land reported its first-quarter results after the market closed on Tuesday, with net profit surging over 180 per cent to S$11.56 million.
