Singapore stocks: STI resumes Friday afternoon at 3,090.85, up 1% on the day

SINGAPORE stocks resumed higher after Friday's lunch break, with the Straits Times Index gaining 1 per cent or 30 points to 3,090.85 as at 1.01pm.

Gainers outnumbered losers 215 to 138, as some 1.07 billion shares worth S$631.1 million in total changed hands.

The most actively traded counter was Genting Singapore with 66.2 million shares changing hands, rising 5.06 per cent or 4.5 Singapore cents to 93.5 Singapore cents. Other actives included Rex International and Thomson Medical.

Among active index stocks, DBS Group added 1.8 per cent or 43 Singapore cents to S$24.38, while UOB climbed 1.7 per cent or 42 Singapore cents to S$25.08.
