SINGAPORE stocks resumed trading higher after Tuesday's lunch break, with the Straits Times Index rising 15.01 points or 0.5 per cent to 3,234.17 as at 1.01pm.
Gainers outnumbered losers 156 to 129, as some 524.6 million shares worth S$424.7 million in total changed hands.
The most actively traded counter was Nico Steel with 115.11 million units, up 66.67 per cent, or 0.2 Singapore cent, to 0.5 Singapore cent. Other actives included Ezion with 68.58 million shares traded, up 4.17 per cent to 7.5 Singapore cents; and KrisEnergy with 26.07 million shares changing hands, rising 4.55 per cent to 11.5 Singapore cents.
Among active index stocks, OCBC Bank added 0.97 per cent, or 11 Singapore cents, to S$11.47, while UOB inched up 0.45 per cent, or 12 Singapore cents, to S$27.00.
