THE tidal wave of liquidity unleashed by the US Federal Reserve's quantitative easing (QE) programme has reached its high-water mark and may begin to ebb soon, while in Japan the tide is still in full flood and in Europe it is still rising. Results have been very different in each case but what is common is the abundance and cheapness of money washing through domestic asset markets and onto foreign shores.
