S'pore stocks gain slightly as STI edges up 0.07% to 2,818.98

SINGAPORE shares rose slightly in early trading as the Straits Times Index (STI) gained 0.07 per cent, or 1.91 points, to 2,818.98 as at 9.02am.

Gainers outnumbered losers 75 to 68, or about 10 up for every nine down, after 67.2 million shares worth S$91 million had changed hands.

Among the index stocks, OCBC Bank was among the most active in the morning, rising 0.48 per cent, or four Singapore cents, to S$8.44.

Golden Agri-Resources added 2.74 per cent, or one Singapore cent, to 37.5 Singapore cents, while Noble Group increased by 1.67 per cent, or 0.3 Singapore cent, to 18.3 Singapore cents.
