SINGAPORE share prices closed lower on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index down 12.24 points at 3,359.17, tracing weaker markets across most of Asia.
However, strong punting activity continued with penny stocks.
Some 2.79 billion shares worth S$952 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 262 to 191.
