    THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Feb 22):

    Great Eastern Holdings: G07 The mainboard-listed insurance company on Tuesday posted a net profit of S$229.8 million for the 3 months ended Dec 31, 2021, decreasing by 33 per cent from S$341.3 million a year ago. The insurance arm of OCBC also recommended a final dividend of S$0.55 per share, which would bring the full FY2021's dividend to S$0.65 per share. Shares of Great Eastern finished Monday at S$21.58, declining 0.4 per cent or S$0.08.

    CDL Hospitality Trusts (CDLHT): J85 The stapled group has acquired Hotel Brooklyn, a 4-star hotel in Manchester, United Kingdom, for a total cost of acquisition of about £24.1 million (S$43.8 million). The purchase consideration amounts to £4.3 million - of which £3 million has been paid to the seller. Stapled securities of CDLHT closed flat at S$1.22 on Monday.

    SIA Engineering: S59 The maintenance arm of Singapore Airlines posted on Monday a net profit of S$33.2 million for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2021, up S$25.5 million from S$7.7 million in the previous year. Earnings per share stood at 2.96 Singapore cents, an improvement from 0.69 cent the year before. Shares of SIA Engineering ended Monday flat at S$2.32, before the earnings results were released.

    Vicom: WJP The mainboard-listed vehicle inspection company reported on Monday a 1.2 per cent increase in net profit to S$24.8 million for the full year ended Dec 31, 2021 on the back of higher demand for its services. The board has recommended a final dividend of 3.24 Singapore cents per share and a special dividend of 2 cents per share to commemorate Vicom's 40th anniversary. Shares of the company closed down 0.5 per cent or S$0.01 to S$2.04 on Monday, before the financial statement was released.

    StarHub: CC3 Telecommunications company StarHub on Monday announced it has scored the Singapore broadcast rights to screen the English Premier League for the next 6 years, regaining the rights from Singtel. Shares of StarHub closed up 0.8 per cent or S$0.01 to S$1.29 on Monday, after the announcement was made.

    Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel): Z74 A consortium of companies, including Singtel, announced on Monday that a submarine cable system connecting multiple countries between Singapore and France has commenced construction and is set to be ready by the first quarter of 2025. Shares of Singtel closed at S$2.58, up 1.2 per cent or S$0.03 on Monday after the announcement.

    Yangzijiang Shipbuilding: BS6 The shipbuilding and repairing company announced in a bourse filing on Monday that its independent director Teo Yi-Dar is assisting with investigations by the Commercial Affairs Department in relation to potential offences by Tee International under the Securities and Futures Act. Shares of the company closed flat at S$1.40 on Monday before the announcement.
