THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Oct 3):
Great Eastern : Two Malaysian subsidiaries of OCBC’s insurance arm are acquiring AmMetLife’s businesses, while also entering into an exclusive distribution partnership with it for about RM1.1 billion (S$325 million) in cash. Great Eastern shares closed S$0.05 or 0.3 per cent lower at S$18 on Monday, before the announcement.
Raffles Medical Group : The healthcare provider has acquired a majority interest in American International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, valued at US$45.6 million. This will enable Raffles Medical to augment its clinic operations in the city, said the group on Monday. Prior to the announcement, shares of Raffles Medical ended S$0.01 or 0.8 per cent higher at S$1.26.
