Stocks to watch: Singtel, Metro, Quantum Healthcare, Shen Yao

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Oct 4):
Singtel : Its Australian subsidiary Optus confirmed on Monday that the personal identification data of some 2.1 million current and former customers was leaked. The company added that the media reports citing potential fines or costs from the data breach are speculative and that it is making its own assessment. Singtel closed S$0.06 or 2.3 per cent lower at S$2.60, after the latest update.
Metro : The property investment and development group is acquiring a retail property in Australia and four student accommodations in the United Kingdom to deepen its presence across key markets. The freehold properties in Australia and the UK were bought for A$91 million (S$85.7 million) and £74.4 million (S$119 million) respectively. Shares of Metro closed down S$0.01 or 1.5 per cent to S$0.665 on Monday, before the announcement.
