THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Aug 16):
Thai Beverage (ThaiBev) , Frasers Property : Subsidiaries of the beverage manufacturer and the property developer have established a joint venture company with an initial registered capital of 50 million baht (S$1.9 million), announced both groups on Tuesday. Through the partnership, both companies intend to explore a potential 2.2 billion baht share subscription for a 50 per cent stake in BetterBe Marketplace, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of Thailand-listed The Siam Cement Public Company. ThaiBev ended Monday S$0.005 or 0.8 per cent higher at S$0.66, while Frasers Property ended at S$1.04, down S$0.01 or 1 per cent
Keppel Corp : Keppel Offshore & Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Shipyard, has secured a contract worth about US$2.9 billion, according to a press statement on Monday. The contract was awarded by Brazil’s national oil company, Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), on the basis of an international tender for the engineering, procurement and construction of a floating production storage and offloading vessel. Keppel Corp closed down 0.4 per cent or S$0.03 at S$6.96 on Monday, before the announcement.
