Taiwan: Stocks fall; HTC slumps 10% again

    [TAIPEI] Taiwan stocks fell 0.5 per cent on Tuesday along with most regional bourses, with HTC Corp plunging by the maximum limit again for a second day after the struggling smartphone maker forecast losses in the second quarter.

    Minutes into trading, the main TAIEX index slid to 9,320.00 points, reversing from a 0.3 per cent gain in the previous session.

    HTC shares shed 10 per cent, the most allowed in a session, adding its drop to nearly 20 per cent so far this week. HTC said in a statement late on Friday it saw a loss per share of T$9.70 to T$9.94 in the April-June quarter.

    The Taiwan dollar was up 0.655 per cent to stand at T$31.070 to the US dollar.
