Tokyo: Nikkei index closes lower after US losses

    Tokyo’s key Nikkei index closed lower on Thursday (Nov 17) after Wall Street shares slumped as a major US retailer warned of a weak holiday season.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index dipped 0.35 per cent, or 97.73 points, to 27,930.57, but the broader Topix index edged up 0.15 per cent, or 2.99 points, to end at 1,966.28. AFP
