Tokyo: Nikkei index opens higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo's key Nikkei 225 index opened higher on Friday helped by rallies in US high-tech shares, with focus shifting to the Bank of Japan's policy decision later in the day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.3 per cent or 75.82 points at 29,094.15 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.2 per cent or 3.77 points to 1,959.80.
