Tokyo: Shares close 0.95% lower on stronger yen

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed 0.95 per cent lower on Monday, hit by a stronger yen as Japan's latest earnings season gets under way.

    The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange slipped 194.43 points to 20,350.10, while the Topix index of all first-section shares eased 1.08 per cent, or 17.96 points, to 1,637.90.
