Tokyo: Shares close with gains over 2%
TOKYO shares jumped more than 2 per cent following gains on Wall Street after US economic data showed inflation may be slowing.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 2.62 per cent or 727.65 points to end at 28,546.98, while the broader Topix index rose 2.04 per cent or 39.53 points to 1,973.18. AFP
