    TOKYO shares closed higher on Monday (May 23) with investors picking up growth stocks and eyeing steady gains in US futures.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.98 per cent or 262.49 points to end at 27,001.52, while the broader Topix index climbed 0.92 per cent or 17.20 points to 1,894.57. AFP
