    TOKYO stocks shrugged off early losses to close higher on Thursday (Jul 21) after the Bank of Japan left its monetary easing policy unchanged.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.44 per cent or 122.74 points to end at 27,803, while the broader Topix index advanced 0.21 per cent or 4.15 points to 1,950.59. AFP
