Tokyo: Shares open higher on Thursday despite Wall Street losses

    TOKYO shares opened slightly higher on Thursday, bucking the trend after Wall Street faltered on profit-taking as recent global rallies were seen fizzling out.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.31 per cent, or 85.33 points, to 27,205.86, while the broader Topix index rose 0.38 per cent, or 7.31 points, to 1,920.23. AFP
