Tokyo: Shares open higher as yen weakens

    [TOKYO] Tokyo shares rose at the start on Tuesday, despite a weak lead from Wall Street as exporters got a lift after the yen's rally fizzled.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 0.26 per cent, or 40.90 points, at 15,792.03, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares added 0.51 per cent, or 6.56 points, to 1,286.35.
