Tokyo: Shares open lower

    [TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower on Tuesday, weighed down by lower oil prices and jitters over the US presidential elections.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.30 per cent, or 51.58 points, to 17,373.44 in the first few minutes of trading while the broader Topix index was down 0.27 per cent, or 3.79 points, at 1,389.23.
