Tokyo: Shares open lower after Wall St declines

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower Thursday, following a weak lead from US and European financial markets on worries about weakening conditions in China's economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.28 per cent, or 51.55 points, to open at 18,139.77, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.33 per cent, or 4.94 points, at 1,483.90.
