Tokyo: Shares open lower on Monday

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower on Monday with investor sentiment hurt by the yen's uptick and lower oil prices.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index, which ended last week at an 11-month high in a seven-day winning streak, lost 0.53 per cent, or 97.12 points, to 18,284.10 in the first few minutes of trade.
The Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.50 per cent, or 7.34 points, at 1,457.19.
