Tokyo: Shares open lower over strong yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower on Wednesday as an uptick in the yen spawned worries about exports.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 1.10 per cent, or 184.31 points, to 16,499.62 in the first few minutes of trading. The Topix index of all first-section shares fell 1.06 per cent, or 14.25 points, to 1,334.97.
