[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower in cautious trade on Tuesday, tracking losses on Wall Street as investors await the outcome of a key Bank of Japan meeting later this week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.46 per cent, or 80.74 points, to 17,358.56 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.74 per cent, or 10.32 points, to 1,394.51.
