Tokyo: Shares open lower
[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower on Wednesday, after Wall Street stocks dropped on lower oil prices and a murky outlook for US monetary policy.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.59 per cent, or 98.27 points, to 16,630.77 in the first few minutes of trading. The Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.65 per cent, or 8.56 points, at 1,314.43.
