Tokyo: Stocks up after Trump speech

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares rose on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump's speech to Congress which offered few fresh details on his economic growth plans or any surprises.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 jumped 1.44 per cent, or 274.55 points, to 19,393.54, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues gained 1.16 per cent, or 17.77 points, to 1,553.09.
