[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened 1.17 per cent higher Wednesday, following a jump in US equity markets ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision this week.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 211.67 points to 18,238.15 in the first minutes of trading.
