[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed 0.25 per cent down on Monday after anti-austerity party Syriza swept to victory in Greece's weekend general election, raising fears the country could exit the eurozone.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended down 43.23 points to 17,468.52, while the Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.08 per cent, or 1.14 points, to 1,402.08.
