Tokyo: Stocks close 0.67% lower despite weak yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed 0.67 per cent lower on Tuesday, giving up early gains driven by the weak yen as investors adjusted their positions.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 125.44 points to 18,665.11, while the Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.46 per cent, or 7.01 points, to 1,524.75.
