[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rose 1.01 per cent by the close on Friday, helped by a weaker yen and after strong gains on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange ended up 152.68 points at 15,291.64, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.81 per cent, or 9.98 points, to 1,242.32.
