    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed down on profit-taking Monday after last week's session ended with rallies, as investors eye global economic indicators due this week.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.99 per cent or 289.33 points to 28,860.08, while the broader Topix index slipped 1.26 per cent or 24.46 points to 1,922.98.
