Tokyo: Stocks close higher, tracking US rallies

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed higher for a fourth straight session on Wednesday, taking a positive lead on Wall Street following a batch of strong corporate earnings.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 1.20 per cent, or 265.71 points, to end at 22,472.92, while the broader Topix index rose 0.70 per cent, or 11.31 points, to 1,631.51.
