[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed higher on Tuesday (Dec 21) with investors seeking bargains after a sharp fall in the previous session, supported by gains in Asian shares.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index jumped 2.08 per cent or 579.78 points to end at 28,517.59, while the broader Topix index gained 1.47 per cent or 28.46 points to 1,969.79.
