Tokyo: Stocks close lower over virus worries

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower on Friday amid concerns over a fresh record of daily coronavirus cases in the capital.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 1.06 per cent or 238.48 points to end at 22,290.81, while the broader Topix index dropped 1.42 per cent or 22.04 points to 1,535.20.
