TOKYO stocks closed lower on Wednesday (Sep 7), with investors spooked by growing speculation that the US Federal Reserve’s aggressive monetary tightening will persist.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.71 per cent, or 196.21 points, to end at 27,430.30, while the broader Topix index lost 0.57 per cent, or 10.93 points, at 1,915.65. AFP
