Tokyo: Stocks close marginally higher

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks eked out gains at the close on bargain hunting Wednesday as investors look ahead to Britain's general election and sacked FBI chief James Comey's congressional testimony.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.02 per cent, or 4.72 points, to 19,984.62 after two days of losses, while the Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.04 per cent, or 0.65 points, to 1,597.09.
