Tokyo: Stocks close marginally higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed marginally higher on Wednesday, giving up most early gains as attention moves to the release of key US jobs data later in the week.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index inched up 0.06 per cent, or 12.59 points, to 20,626.66 while the broader Topix index ended up 0.01 per cent, or 0.10 points, at 1,684.56.
