Tokyo: Stocks close up as oil prices lift energy sector

    [TOKYO] Tokyo shares rose on Monday, tracking gains on Wall Street as a jump in oil prices lifted energy companies.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.45 per cent, or 87.52 points, to 19,678.28, while the Topix index of all first-section issues advanced 0.51 per cent, or 7.92 points, to 1,567.65.
